How the money moves

PayLeaf does not hold or move your money. Every payment is processed by Stripe and paid out by Stripe directly into the bank account you connect during onboarding. PayLeaf is a business payment tool — not a bank, wallet or money-transfer service.

The PayLeaf platform fee and Stripe's processing fee are deducted from each transaction before payout, so the amount that reaches your bank is the transaction total less those fees.

Stripe's fees

Stripe sets and publishes its own processing rates, and they vary by card type, currency and country. PayLeaf does not set, mark up or receive any part of the Stripe processing fee. For current rates, see Stripe's pricing page. Stripe may also charge for specific events such as disputes, refunds of currency-converted payments, or payouts to certain accounts, under its own terms.

Refunds

When you refund a payment from the PayLeaf app, the refunded amount is returned to your customer. Fee treatment on refunds follows Stripe's published policy for your account.

Taxes

GST, PST, HST and QST you configure in the app are calculated on your sale and collected on your behalf as part of the transaction total. Remitting those taxes to the relevant authority remains your responsibility.

Changes to fees

If the PayLeaf platform fee changes, the change will be posted on this page before it takes effect. Continued use of PayLeaf after that date means the updated fee applies.
